Ideally, in our study of the book of Romans, after a study of the historical background, we should begin with Romans 1:1 and then go through the entire book verse by verse. Because only one quarter has been allotted to the study of the book, we have had to be selective in what parts we can study. The book could easily take four quarters, not one, to explore. Hence, only the key chapters, in which the basic message is contained, will be covered.

Ellen White's Contribution to Adventist Doctrine, by Kwabena Donkor, an Associate director of the Biblical Research Institute, is an authoritative, eye-opening must read. (Adventist World, NAD Edition, March 2009) His words suggest a way for the Adventist Church to examine, review, and/or update existing beliefs in a way that would reflect the biblical scholarship that has taken place since our founders, working from the King James Bible, established Adventist theology back in the last decades of the 19th century.
Some background: A good friend of mine likes to provocatively post snippets that attack the Bible, belief in God, etc. Here are a couple as examples:
