SHAMELESS PLUG: BREAKING THE SILENCE
Pornography is reported to be a 12 billion dollar industry in the U.S. In 2002 Pastors.com website conducted a survey on porn use of 1351 pastors: 54% of the pastors had viewed Internet pornography within the last year, and 30% of these had visited within the last 30 days. In a 2003 Focus on the Family poll 47 percent of respondents said porn is a problem in their home. [source]
Bernie Anderson knows this all too well.
Bernie is the senior pastor of the Wasatch Hills Seventh-day Adventist Church in Salt Lake City, Utah.
For years, he lived a secret life. A respected pastor, husband, and father, Bernie battled behind closed doors with pornography and sexual addiction.
He now tells his riveting story in Breaking the Silence: A Pastor Goes Public About His Battle with Pornography (AutumnHouse Publishing). Prompted by a desire to help others break free from pornography Bernie openly shares his testimony of how God has given him the courage to live a life of purity and integrity.
He has been a guest on Focus on the Family with Dr. James Dobson, Fox News’ On the Record with Greta Van Susteren and has been featured on numerous print media and local TV outlets across the country.
As a result of God’s work in his life Bernie now devotes much of his ministry to warning Christians and non-Christians about the dangers of pornography through preaching, teaching, and seminars and inspiring others to live a life of purity.
